Client Testimonial

A.K, N.C and M.C, South East London

I, AK, confirm that I am writing this testimonial on behalf of my self and my twins, NC and MC.
This is dedicated to Mrs Sridhar, who has managed to solve a case that took over three years to be resolved.
First of all, I would like to say that she is caring, hard-working and she is a very efficient solicitor. I and my children will always be grateful to her, as she really did her best for us to win our case, which I must admit was an extremely complex case with issues of Domestic Violence, Nationality, Statelessness and Article 8 issues’.

We will always have the utmost confidence and respect in her as she fought our case with full understanding. It was a hard piece of work for her and very consuming, both timely and physically. But despite that fact, she put all her energy and effort to understand this case and fight the Home Office in the best way possible.

When I first started this case, I went to a firm for almost two years, trying to get my status paper settled and be granted the right to remain in the UK. For two years, I had never had any great news and was just spending money for ineffective work done. When my case was then rejected, I took the decision to launch an Immigration Appeal, changing my Immigration Solicitors choosing South England Solicitors.

During my first meeting with Mrs Sridhar, she was very enthusiastic and told me from the first day that my chances of winning were very great, and her confidence made me carry on with the Immigration Appeal in serenity, as I was constantly updated by her over what was happening. She would always try to console us if bad news emerged, and never gave up on our case, which the Home Office themselves called very complicated.

Before the Immigration Appeal, she got us in touch with one of the best barrister, Mr Andreas Pretzel. She recommended him to us, as she knew that he would help us solve this case. Therefore, I also take this opportunity to thank him, and thank Mrs Sridhar for getting us in touch with him.

Almost four years since I have entered the UK now, Mrs Sridhar has won my case and my kids are studying and working. Although we were granted Discretionary Leave to Remain (DLR), the Home Office still finds it hard to get me my correct documents and up until yesterday, Mrs Sridhar prepared an extraordinary folder which was sent to them, requesting my files to be amended.

Four years later, I know live peacefully in London, as I know that sooner or later, Mrs Sridhar will make sure I get all my documents amended, I take this opportunity to thank her on behalf of all my family.

I really hope that we will remain in touch as she has been more than a lawyer, she was the sister I never had.

Thank you Mrs Sridhar.
Yours sincerely,
AK, NC, MC

Mr Abdul-Hakeem Mohammed Ali, London

Tier 4 PBS, (Adult Student Visa Refusal on Extension)

“I was refused Tier 4 visa when I submitted for an extension. I simply could not believe that I received a refusal from the Home Visa on my Tier 4 Visa Extension as I have previously extended my Student Visa Extension successfully when I had to continue my Degree programme after completing my Diploma course. I had submitted the same type of evidences when I was pursuing my Master’s programme but this time around I received refusal from the Home Office after my leave had expired. I felt so miserable and had mixed feelings as to what I should do further. My student counsellor was advising for a fresh application, my friends were asking me to meet an Immigration Solicitor and some said that I should appeal the refusal decision from the Home Office. I then met Mrs Sridhar who is the Immigration Solicitor at South England Solicitors. She explained very clearly of my Immigration options and how the law for student visa had changed under the Points Base System. She also explained as to how specific and accurate an applicant is expected to be under the Points Base System in providing the supporting evidences to their Immigration Applications. She strongly advised me to go through the Immigration Appeal route as my visa had expired and that I could submit the required evidences for my Immigration Appeal. However, I was so unfortunate that there were political and civil unrest in Nigeria which made it complicated for me to obtain any further evidences in support for the Immigration Appeal. Mrs Sridhar tried her level best to adjourn my case but again I was so unfortunate that the Immigration Judge did not allow for an adjournment. I had to prepare for my exams and take exams when I received my hearing date and thus making it more difficult for me to meet Mrs Sridhar face to face and provide my Appeal Instructions’. However, I have never known any Immigration Solicitor to be so patient, to be detailed for evidences, to quickly adjust the preparation of the appeal when there was problem with evidences and she had prepared excellent bundle work, obtained statements from all the relevant persons for my Immigration Appeal and submit it to court. Her experience and knowledge in Immigration Law was simply outstanding and she carefully prepared the Immigration Appeal as she knew that I was going to be unsuccessful under the Immigration Rules as I had problems in getting my evidences. But with her representation I have successfully won my Immigration Appeal under the Human Rights and I am happily continuing my Master’s Programme which I will be completing end of this year. My family and I are very grateful for her legal assistance.”

Mr Ejaz Ahmed, Pakistan

Spouse Visa Appeal

“I was refused Entry Clearance from Pakistan to join my British Spouse who was residing permanently in the UK. I was married to her in 2008 and had a relationship with her since 2005. We have stayed in the UK for almost three years but returned to Pakistan to regularise my “overstayer” status in the UK. However the Entry Clearance process was a total night mare as it was refused twice and I was represented by a differed solicitors firm. My spouse then met Mrs Sridhar at South England Solicitors and she advised her that she could represent us for the Immigration Appeal at IAC in the UK. She was very patient, very efficient, professional, knowledgeable and she kept in contact with me throughout the retainer period to obtain my instructions and prepared an extensive work for the Immigration Appeal. She advised us on all the necessary evidences that I need to submit, my spouse and other family members. The bundle that was submitted to courts had ample of evidences to rebut the ECO decision. The judge was convinced with representation and pronounced the Determination on the same day allowing my Immigration Appeal. My spouse and I are extremely satisfied with the Immigration Services of South England Solicitors. Mrs Sridhar is specialised in the immigration work and she knew exactly what needs to be done in order for me to get my visa to the UK. My spouse and I had almost 3 years battle with the British Embassy in Pakistan and we were almost giving up hope of being re-united again permanently. But Mrs Sridhar turned our dreams and hope to reality. We finally celebrated our third wedding anniversary in the UK happily together.”

Appeal by a Family Member of an EEA Spouse

“I was refused settlement by the Home Office as my wife who is an EEA national did not work in the UK due to pregnancy and child care issues. My wife also was not a self sufficient person and she did not have a private medical care in the UK. The Home Office refused my settlement application on the basis that my wife was not exercising Treaty Rights in the UK throughout the five years of stay in the UK initially. Mrs Sridhar assisted me to appeal the Home Office decision to refuse me the settlement rights in the UK.  Instructing and working with Mrs Sridhar was very convenient as she offers flexible working hours, instruction in Tamil and she pays attention to details very specifically in preparing our Immigration Appeal. In fact the first comment given by the Immigration Judge who preside our case was that “The Immigration Solicitor (Mrs Sridhar) had prepared the case very well. The bundle work to be excellent and comprehensive detailing from the history from our country of origin to the present date of the appeal.” Mrs Sridhar had submitted all the relevant evidences to support my appeal and I was happy that I was granted leave to remain by the Immigration Judge. Mrs Sridhar is a professional Immigration Solicitor delivering a personal service to her clients and I have recommended her services highly to my friends and members of church.”

Stateless Application (BOC) British Overseas Citizen

“Mrs Sridhar assisted my wife who was a BOC in the UK to obtain leave to remain in the UK. My wife had renounced her Malaysian citizenship and obtained a BOC status in the UK. My wife was advised poorly by a previous Immigration Solicitor which led my wife to be in a stateless situation in the UK. However with the legal representation from Mrs Sridhar who is a Malaysian Citizen herself and a practising Immigration Solicitor in the UK understood our problems. She is also a qualified lawyer from Malaysia in the UK and she understood the legal problems to re-instate the nationality status in Malaysia. Mrs Sridhar had a pro long legal battle with the Treasury Solicitors by submitting a Judicial Review Action against the UKBA. My wife’s status was in a limbo who could only return to Malaysia on a visitor’s visa for a period of three months and she was not able to get a settled status in the UK or any rights to work in the UK. However with her legal representation my wife’s case was settled out of court with discretionary leave to remain in the UK.”

Spouse Visa Appeal

“Mrs Sridhar assisted me in the Immigration Appeal before the AIT against the Entry Clearance Officer in Jamaica who refused the application of my wife to join me in the UK for settlement. I only approached her after my previous two attempts failed. Hence on my third refusal, I decided to get a qualified and Specialized Immigration Solicitor and I do not have any regrets with my decision. She drafted the ground of appeals and submitted the appeal papers well in advance with all the relevant evidences to support my Immigration Appeal. She closely worked with my wife who was at Jamaica during the appeal process via e-mail, calls and fax to obtain her instruction on her statements to support the Immigration Appeal. She advised us on all the necessary evidences from Jamaica and in the UK. There are no words to describe our happiness when she finally obtained the visa during the appeal for my wife. I am happily reunited with my family after very long years of legal battle. “

“I came to the UK on a student visa and met my partner who is an EEA national. It was love at first sight and we decided to get married shortly after that. Mrs Sridhar advised on the procedural requirements and Immigration Rules as to how we could legally get married in the UK. I am now happily married and settled in the UK. I would definitely recommend her services as she has continuously showed her devotion and dedication in our case throughout.”

Family Visitor Visa Appeal, Chennai

“I can’t thank enough for all the help of Mrs Sridhar. I was able to communicate with her my mother tongue confidently. She perfectly understood my situation and assisted me speedily with my family visitor’s visa which was refused in Chennai. Her assistance has meant a lot for me. Without her I would not have been able to travel and meet my daughter who was about to give birth during that period. I happily spent my holidays of 6 months with my grandchild, daughter and son in law before returning back to India. Should anyone that I know run into a similar problem in India, I would not hesitate to recommend her services to them.”

 Mrs C S G, London

Stateless Application (BOC) British Overseas Citizen

“Mrs Sridhar is a honest Immigration Solicitor. She was up front about the complexity of my BOC case and transparent with the fees. Judicial Review Action against the Home Office is a costly, lengthy affair and complex legal process which I failed to understand as a lay person. But Mrs Sridhar who was the Immigration Solicitor that handled my BOC case was very patient with my ignorance and repeatedly explained to me many times until I understood. She also accepted payment in stages which helped us with our funding for the JR action against the Home Office. Mrs Sridhar with her negotiation skills settled my BOC case out of court without fully litigating the BOC case which saved us a lot of money. I may be one of the few Malaysian Chinese who renounced Malaysian Citizenship to obtain a BOC Passport in the UK who had successfully obtained leave to remain in the UK subsequently. I know there are many Chinese Malaysians with BOC status in the UK. I would urge them to come forward and meet Mrs Sridhar to obtain some Immigration Advice as to how they could obtain leave to remain in the UK or to regularize their BOC status in the UK. I would like to also inform the BOCs in the UK that they could not go back to Malaysia as the Malaysian authorities will not accept them for settlement.”

Mr B H, London

Naturalisation Application

“I appointed, Mrs Sridhar to assist me in obtaining a British Passport in the UK. Initially, I wanted to do my own application so that I could save money. The Naturalisation Application Fees for the Home Office itself was £836 and I could not afford fees for an Immigration Solicitor. But when I enquired the Immigration Solicitor’s fees for British Citizenship Application at Messer South England Solicitors, I was surprised to receive a reasonable fees being quoted. Therefore, I proceeded to make an appointment to meet my Immigration Solicitor who was Mrs Sridhar. She also offered to accept payments in instalments. I have a British Passport now and I do not regret in spending the money to get an Immigration Solicitor to prepare my Naturalisation Application. The reason being, I only realised the complexity of the Naturalisation Application when there is an element of “criminal charges”, “convictions” and “police report” as to how it would affect the good character conduct of a person wishing to apply for a British Passport. Initially, I was under the impression that getting two referees to sign the Naturalisation Application Form was a straight forward process but only realised after appointing an Immigration Solicitor that it is not as straight forward as I thought. There are specific rules as to who could be a referee in the British Citizenship Applications. If, I had proceeded with my own application without legal representation, I would have definitely lost my money and obtained a Refusal Decision from the Home Office on my Naturalization Application”.

Spouse Visa Appeal

“After being messed up by other Immigration Adviser, my husband’s visa was finally sorted by Mrs Sridhar who was the Immigration Solicitor on his Immigration Appeal. Working with Mrs Sridhar was a good experience. She always answered my phone calls, emails and correspondence. I was always kept informed with what was going on with my husband’s Immigration Appeal. As our Immigration Solicitor she tried her level best to make the Immigration Appeal process less stressful. I was highly stressed and with the legal advice and comfort, I was able to calm myself to a reasonable extent. But since I was separated from my husband who was in the Pakistan, I could not rest in peace until he joined me in the UK. Mrs Sridhar won the Immigration Appeal for us.”

Visitor Visa for Spouse

“To be married with a wife under the age of 18 and not being to sponsor my spouse to join me in the UK for settlement or have the opportunity to spend short duration of time on visit visa to the UK was very frustrating and distressing for me and my wife. Living apart was very difficult especially being away from my only child. I approached Mrs Sridhar with my complicated situation and with previous refusal on visit visa and general grounds of refusal of Para 320(7)(A) and Para 320(7)(B). She explained to me the case of Quila from Administrative Court in detail and that it has been appealed further to the Supreme Court. Never the less, she advised me to appeal the visit visa for my wife and child. She prepared the grounds of appeal very strongly and explained to the Entry Clearance Manager as to how the decision affects my family and private life and also my family members especially my child. I did not have to go through the appeal process the decision was overturned and it was simply a miracle. My wife and my daughter came to the UK for six months visit visa and left the UK without becoming an overstayer. Mrs Sridhar constantly updates me with the Quila’s case, the Home Office has lost the case and the Immigration Rules which banned Non-Europeans under the age of 21 years old to join their spouses in the UK has been proven to be incompatible with the ECHR. I will apply for settlement application for my wife and my child to join me in the UK as I would like them to be with me and Mrs Sridhar would assist me in preparing the application once again.”

Mrs R.B, India

Visitor Visa for Spouse

“To be living separately after marriage is a living nightmare for me especially in India. The surrounding community is ignorant about the UK Immigration Rules requirements and there was a lot of pressure from the society and family. Applications made without legal representation clearly made the situation far worst than we could have anticipated. My spouse in the UK approached Mrs Sridhar who is a qualified and experienced immigration solicitor. She established contact with me by email and obtain further instructions directly from me and modern communication by Skpe and telephone facilities made no difference that my Immigration Solicitor was far way from India. Instructing her to act in my Immigration Application for Visit Visa was easy and she fully understood the complexity of our case with General Grounds of Refusal under the Para 320 of the Immigration Rules. She won the refusal at the lodgement of the appeal stage without going through the appeal process. Thus it saved us a lot of stress, money and time. I thank her with all my heart and wish her success in her career. I would definitely recommend her to family and friends. I would approach her again for my settlement application again in January 2012 without any hesitation.”

“I was in a Civil Partnership with my partner in the UK and had migrated to the UK to live with Civil Partner on a two year visa. However, my relationship broken down irretrievably with my Civil Partner and there was no way to reconcile or save the relationship any more. I met Mrs Sridhar who was very sensitive to my feelings and she understood the difficulties that I had gone through with my Civil Partner. She agreed to take on my Civil Partnership Dissolution and subsequently she encountered a lot of problems with my Civil Partner. Mrs Sridhar was patient and managed to obtain successfully the Civil Partnership Dissolution Order finally from the Principal Registry of the Family Division, London. I was then in US and received the Decree from Mrs Sridhar.”

Family Law Divorce Application

“I instructed Mrs Sridhar for my Divorce Proceedings. I was pregnant and I was in a very distressed situation during that period. However, Mrs Sridhar approached my case calmly and sensitively and re-assured me that everything would be fine. The entire Divorce Process was hassle free from me as Mrs Sridhar took over the burden from me and I did not have to make any contact with my ex-husband. Mrs Sridhar took complete control of the case and obtained the Decree Absolute in the quickest possible way that she could. I felt much secured and relaxed in instructing her as my solicitor as I specifically wanted a Tamil speaking Divorce Solicitor and a Female Divorce Solicitor for my case as there were very highly confidential and sensitive issues involved in my case. I was able to give Mrs Sridhar my instructions in the strictest confidence manner. I thank her whole heartedly for assisting me with my divorce.”

Application Outside the Immigration Rules / Human Rights Applications

“Being an Overstayer in the UK is very difficult especially when you have children and wife to care for. Employers tend to exploit the situation by giving pay which is below minimum wages allowed in the UK. Letchmy represented us by submitting an Application to Remain in the UK outside the Immigration Rules based on our Human Rights and Children Best Interest. It was not easy battle with the Home Office. Many times our hopes to obtain any leave to remain in the UK went almost nil. However, Letchmy was always advising us to be positive and encouraging us to keep going with the legal battle. She would always lift our spirit up whenever we are down. We even had to take Judicial Review Action against the Home Office. The legal battle with the Home Office was certainly putting a lot of stress on our family and funding the case privately was very difficult. But Letchmy was kind enough to understand our difficulties’ and accept payments in instalments. There are times we have been late in paying her fees as we need to pay the Home Office fees first. She is a solicitor who would put all her heart and soul to each and every case that she takes upon. She would endlessly fight the legal battle with the Home Office until she gets a positive decision in the case. All of us had been granted Discretionary Leave to Remain in the UK. We are so grateful for her and very proud to have had her as our Immigration Solicitor

Mrs A K, East London

Application Outside the Immigration Rules / Human Rights Applications

“Letchmy represented our Immigration Appeal at Taylor House with her Immigration Barrister. The Immigration Judge who presided our hearing kept complementing Letchmy’s preparation work for the Immigration Appeal from the start to the end of proceedings. The Judge said “It is not normally the IAC would receive bundle work 5 days in advance and the bundle work received would not normally be prepared properly and with no detailed statements. So when the IAC receives a good piece of work from the legal representatives’ then such work must be recognised, appreciated and praised for.” Letchmy work has been terror and she was praised in the open court before her Barrister and other members of public. I was very happy with my decision to choose her as my Immigration Solicitor and she did obtain leave to remain in the UK on the 7 years concession period of the time spent in the UK by my children for my entire family.”

Application Outside the Immigration Rules / Human Rights Applications

“As day and night was approaching, I was in a deep fear of my future in the UK. I am almost going to complete my secondary education and would need to progress with my higher education to the college and University. It is my ambition to become a Barrister in the UK. When all my other friends go on school trips abroad I would be left behind as I could not travel. I have a younger brother who was born in the UK and he has never stepped out of the UK. The past eight years he has only known UK as his home and I was very young when my parents brought me from Mauritius. I did not have status in the UK and so does my entire family members. It is because of this reason that I could not travel or further my education to University. My parents’ appointment Letchmy to be our Immigration Solicitor and she successfully obtained Discretionary Leave to Remain in the UK for all our family. She has turned my dreams into reality now. I am planning for a holiday to go abroad soon with my family. I will apply to the best University in the UK to do law and I am very confident that I would get a place as I have been passing all my exams with flying colours. Letchmy is the best Immigration Lawyer that I have ever known; who is very dedicated and committed to the work she has undertaken and she certainly delivered a personal service to my family. I was present for each and every meeting at her office with my parents and I have personally seen and perceived her professional care which is outstanding.”

Bail Applications, Application Outside the Immigration Rules / Human Rights Applications

“I was kept in Dover Detention Centre pending removal from the UK. I have a wife and three children in the UK. My wife was so helpless and with three young children as to how she could help me. The Removal Decision against me was causing a lot distress to my wife and the young ones. My older brother, knows Letchmy as a good and honest Immigration Solicitor. He took my wife to meet her and to discuss if she could assist in securing my release from the Dover Removal Centre and if the Removal Directions could be challenged. Letchmy acted very quickly in releasing me on Chief Immigration Officer Bail. I have seen detainees in the Dover Removal Centre for months and who had gone to the Tribunal for a Bail Application but yet could not be released on bail.  I was happy that Letchmy secured my release at CIO Bail stage without having to take it further to the Immigration Tribunal. She also successfully challenged the Removal Directions against me by lodging grounds of appeal on my Human Rights. We had our appeal heard in York House IAC and the judge granted all five of us Discretionarily Leave to Remain in the UK. I thank her for her hard work.”

Mrs B N P, Forest Gate, London

Application Outside the Immigration Rules / Human Rights Applications, Transfer of Condition Application

“I have just given birth to my third child and was breast feeding. I had to face removal of my husband from the UK who is the sole bread winner for the family. My life was devastated. I was clueless as to how I could help him. I had to be on reporting conditions with my young ones which was emotionally and physically draining for me. Each time when I go for my reporting I would be in so of much fear that I would also be detained as my husband. However, Letchmy has always advised me to co-operate and comply with the Home Office condition which was a very valuable advice. If without legal representation, I would not have done that and it may well have complicated our case further. Letchmy secured my husband release from the Detention Centre and Removal Directions was challenged successfully. I now live in the UK with my husband and three children as all of us had been granted Discretionary Leave to Remain in the UK. We also obtained passport for our third child and had his visa vignette transferred through Mrs Sridhar. I explained our urgent plans to travel abroad and she dealt with the application expeditiously.”

Miss Nareeman Bibi Boodhooa, Enfield

Student Visa Tier 4 (General) Points Base System

“Mrs Sridhar was my Immigration Solicitor from South England Solicitors. She has been working very hard to get me my Student Visa in the UK.  Before meeting Mrs Sridhar, I went through 3 different Immigration Solicitors Firm. They charged me high fees and the job was never completed. They had the tendency of dragging my case to get more money from me.  At the end I was tired and insecure of the whole process.  I then discussed my Immigration Problems with my family friend. My family friend then introduced me to Mrs Sridhar who was also her Immigration Client. When I met her for the first time, I totally agreed with what my family friend described about her to me. Mrs Sridhar was definitely a reliable Immigration Solicitor. I decided to meet her as my last attempt in getting a Student Visa in the UK after hearing about all her hard work towards her clients. Now after knowing her, I could not believe how trustworthy and sympathy a solicitor can be of a client’s situation. She definitely has a human element to her professionalism. She was very transparent about the fees. It was a fixed fee that was quoted and I paid the same amount only to the firm. She made me feel comfortable and secure again to be in the UK lawfully. She was always constantly updating me through the phone, text and emails.  I feel very lucky to have had her as my Immigration Solicitor. She made the whole situation stress free.  Excellent service. I would definitely consider using her Immigration Services again for my 10 years Settlement in the UK in due course.”

Certificate of Approval

“Getting permission to marry from the UKBA was not easy task when you are in the UK illegally and without any proof of identification. No matter how complex was my case, Mrs Sridhar mange to get the Certificate of Approval for me. I am living with my husband and two kids happily. Keep going with your good work.”

EEA Residence Card Application

“ I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with the service provided by South England Solicitors, and with Letchmy particularly, in handling my Immigration Case. Her Immigration Service from start to finish has been exemplary and on a professional, knowledgeable, yet friendly level that far exceeds all other Immigration Solicitors that I have dealt with previously. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble to her and I am made to feel unique, never feeling that I am just one of many clients that she or the firm have to deal with each day.”

Mrs S S R, Hemel Hempstead

Power of Attorney

“I was not able to travel back to Sri Lanka to deal with property transaction. However with the assistance of Letchmy, I was able to purchase properties and rent them with the Power of Attorney that she drafted for me. She was able to draft it in a short frame of time. Our communication was by phone and email only. I only had to meet her once when the final version was ready for signature.”

 Mr Patel, Middlesex

Settlement Applicant for parent aged 65 and above

“My initial application to bring my elderly father on Settlement in the UK was turned down. The emotional toll for my entire family was devastating. I did the application personally.  I appointed South England Solicitors to appeal the decision. At the end of the first meeting with Mrs Sridhar, I absolutely knew that my father and I were in good hands. Every interaction since that first meeting has shown that to be true. Mrs Sridhar is different than any other lawyers you’ll ever meet – she truly care about me and my family.  She worked unbelievably hard, and utilize her legal  experience and creativity in making every effort to help us winning the case at appeal. My father has joined me on Settlement in the UK now and all the credit goes to Mrs Sridhar only.”
